Side Effects

This is f***ed up! Going back to my skin check up this morning, my dermatologist said that I can't enjoy summer, why? because i still can't go to the beach to enjoy the sun and swim. NnNoOoO! And this is because of my skin allergy. PMLE or Polymorphous Light Eruption ooooooorrrrrr allergy to sunlight.. I have blogged this to my other social network site already, but for the sake of the others who don't know this type of skin condition and its effects, i'll repeat it here on my blogspot.

PMLE or Polymorphous Light Eruption is a type of skin disease that is caused by sunlight or excessive sun exposure. I think this happen mostly to sensitive skin types like mine but probably to all who have always or been always exposed to heavy sunlight like the working people in Makati who is also having long walks to reach their offices in the morning, everyday. Moving on, the first that you will notice to come out are many, tiny, itchy red rashes on the body parts that had/have been shortly or longly exposed to the sun. The rashes came out mostly on my arms, neck and face, few on my legs and feet. It's very itchy that if you scratch it like hell, it can turn out to be medium sized lesions(i don't know how to call it). In my history of skin allergy,i also have an eczema, so the effect on my skin is doubled up. I think PMLE is also the same as Solar Eczema coz of the same cause. Side effects(socially, mentally...) of it to me was, irritable, hot-headed and it cost me my self-confidence in going out because people will not be just curious, they are like, disgusted of it. You know righhtt?? This skin condition is not that serious, all you will need is sunscreen/sunblock and clothing protection. Doctor's advice for me, sun avoidance. if going out even if inside your residence premises, wear:
  • Cap - also covering your ears
  • Arm sleeves - which you can buy at sport shops.
  • Pants/Shirt - of course
  • Sunglasses/Shades
  • Socks
  • Gloves - if you feel like it.
  • A lot of sunscreen - in the face/neck and arms if no gloves. And;
  • Prescribed Ointment - for the lesions to subside (and continue to put some 'til it's gone inside and outside of the skin.
It sucks right? This will happen every summer to me coz the sun is most likely to be that hot in that time. Gawd!!! If I got no more lesions inside the skin, it'll be gone,,, 'til next summer again! b****! hahaha.

*Sigh* I hope you learned something from what i am experiencing right now. Be careful, it's out there, lurking! lol

buh-bye!
